Position Summary:
The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce is seeking a positive, outgoing, organized,
technically savvy self-starter with multiple skills who would like to be part of an energetic
service organization. This is an extremely rewarding job for a self-motivated individual who
likes to work on projects from the beginning to the end, see results, and help businesses grow.
The Anna Maria Island Chamber is a long-running dynamic, outgoing and friendly group of
business owners, organizations, civic leaders and professionals looking to market and grow local
businesses while enhancing our community. The position requires frequent interaction with
members, potential members, the public, and area organizations with which the Chamber
partners or may partner with in the future. The person holding this position reports to the
President of the AMI Chamber of Commerce and will work as a team member of the staff. The
Chamber successfully completes its work and initiatives through a board committee structure and
the Administrative Assistant will work closely with some board committees.
Position Status: This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position that requires a flexible schedule
to include some evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities and Duties
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Chamber Staff and perform duties and activities as
requested by the President
- Manage database and membership lists
- Organize and file, as required
- Send bulk mailings and e-mails
- Assist in event set-up and break-down
- Help maintain some social media presence
- Manage office supplies
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements:
- Associates degree or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel) and willingness to learn Publisher
- Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator) or some photo editing software
- Member management software knowledge preferred or must demonstrate a willingness to learn
- QuickBooks data entry experience a plus
- Must be resourceful and reliable
- Social Media skills a plus (FB, YouTube, Instagram)
- Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a desire to learn
- Must have some scheduling flexibility for special events
- Excellent telephone skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Physical
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds for short distances
Must be able to sit and work comfortably at a desk for extended periods of time
The Administrative Assistant interacts with Chamber members on a daily basis and
works to ensure they have positive experiences with the Chamber
