Maintenance Specialist – Boiler And Chiller Operation & Repair
Full Time 260 days/8 hours/day
Duties: Maintain district boiler and chiller systems, shop facilities, records and inventories. Respond to service calls as assigned. Assist building staff, other maintenance staff, and vendors with repairs of all types of boiler and HVAC devices and or equipment. Maintain truck inventory and department tools. Troubleshoot boiler / HVAC equipment failures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, Director of Building & Grounds, or designee.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 years or more experience as Chief Boiler Operator. Requires Minnesota Chief Boiler Operators License. Requires valid Class "C" Minnesota driver's license. Requires Master Gas Technician’s License. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs used in the assigned area. Knowledge in the operation and function of HVAC and building automation. Ability to understand and observe oral and written instructions. Ability to read, understand and follow architectural, electrical, mechanical and schematic drawings. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Motivated self-starter; well-organized and efficient; ability to work with minimum supervision and direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
Preferred Qualifications: Universal Refrigeration Certification preferred. Ability to read electrical plans and wiring schematics; interact and communicate with contractors and the general public preferred. Ability to troubleshoot equipment or circuits down to the defective components using testing equipment preferred. Read and interpret resource manuals and construction plans/specs preferred. Ability to work from schematics, blueprints and other plans as well as update plans preferred. Knowledge of construction industries and of acceptable standards and techniques, including knowledge of industry standards for construction and HVAC projects preferred. Knowledge of State of Minnesota Boiler Standards preferred.
Rate of Pay: $34.75/hour
