Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Institutional Assessment will support the operational activities associated with the assessment practices related to Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation and other governing bodies. Demonstrates decisionmaking skills when evaluating assessment reports and/or any other documents related to the University's Strategic Plan.
- Coordinates assessment practices for academic units across all disciplines.
- Maintains current knowledge of commonly assessed discipline-specific competencies.
- Assists faculty in identifying course-level and program-level learning and effectiveness outcomes, develop pedagogically appropriate assessment methodology, and construct data-driven strategies for continuous improvement.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of assessment practices related to accreditation requirements.
- Reviews data and summarizes it to fulfill the reporting requirements of various stakeholders.
- Reviews data in the Online Assessment Reporting Management System and assures confidentiality of the data.
- Coordinates the implementation of projects and professional development resources for faculty.
- Supports the training of faculty and staff in workshops, one-on-one trainings, and/or webinars about assessment best practices, assessment reporting tools, data collection strategies, and other related topics.
- Supports the editing and submitting efforts for SACSCOC, state, regional and governmental agencies.
- Supports academic units with compliance requirements, as well with creating meaningful assessment practices that will enhance student success.
- Analyzes program data, develops reports, and oversees activities while monitoring the status of assessment reports.
- Maintains accreditation standards related to SACSCOC accreditation and other governing bodies.
- Reviews, understands and abides by all departmental procedures.
- Coordinates planning processes that are related to assessment of outcomes.
- Advocates for assessment as a means of improving student learning and institutional effectiveness.
- Provides quality improvement recommendations based upon analysis of assessment data.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of appropriate experience, or a Master's degree.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (education, research & evaluation, psychology, or related field) is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty and administration.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Knowledge of research methodology, curriculum development, and assessment design and implementation.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
