Job Summary:
Administers all forms of respiratory care, both critical and general therapy, and directs and manages the respiratory and pulmonary care for a designated group of patients. Provides respiratory assessment, support, treatment, and diagnostic tests as part of the healthcare team.
Education - Required: Associate's Degree RRT program accredited by the commission of accreditation for Respiratory Care
Education - Preferred: Bachelor's Degree RRT program accredited by the commission of accreditation for Respiratory Care
Experience - Required: less than 1 year
Experience - Preferred: 1 year Experience as a registered respiratory therapist.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required: Ability to provide respiratory therapy methodologies and techniques. Ability to operate diagnostic equipment, including trouble-shooting procedures.
Licensure - Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist PA State License within 1 Year or
Temporary PA state license valid for 1 year or until RRT board exam is taken.
RESP REG - Respiratory Therapist, Registered Upon Hire and Health Services\ACLS Upon Hire and
Health Services\Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Upon Hire and Health Services\BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire and PALS � Pediatric Advanced Life Support Applicable only to Children's Hospital Respiratory Therapists, Float Pool Respiratory Therapists and those who are crossed trained in neonatal and/or pediatric respiratory therapy.
Upon Hire NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Applicable only to Children's Hospital Respiratory Therapists, Float Pool Respiratory Therapists and those who are crossed trained in neonatal respiratory therapy.
Upon Hire Influenza vaccination and COVID-19 Vaccination is required for all colleagues unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice. Applicants possessing a medical marijuana card will not be considered for safety sensitive positions.
