Reporting Accountant Supervisor (#00828)
The Office of Finance at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for a Financial Services Specialist II position. This position will monitor and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial data for University’s grant and contracts, bonds, leases, fixed assets and other general ledger accounts with the Grantor, State, Federal and University policies and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of financial accounting related to general ledgers reconciliations, grants, bonds, leases and fixed assets. Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application to fund accounting. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise professional staff. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze, research and compile complex data and develop a variety of fiscal reports. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and interpret administrative policies and procedures. Considerable knowledge in using automated financial systems. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software such as MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word to record, reconcile and report data.
Considerable higher education work experience in the area of grants, cost accounting, bonds, leases and fixed assets. B.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and work experience. CPA or Master in Accounting or related field. Considerable experience in Title IV federal programs, grant accounting, cost accounting, bonds, leases and fixed asset accounting. Experience with Banner.
