Administrative Assistant I –Social Work

Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I to support the School of Social Work BASW Program and Satellite locations. The position is located in Salisbury, MD.  

Primary Job Duties:  This position provides moderately complex administrative support to the School of Social Work BASW Program and satellite locations (Cecil College, Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, USM-Hagerstown, USM-Southern Maryland) and reports directly to the School of Social Work Director.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of administrative support experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skills in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software, Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions. Proficiency in MS Office is required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

This is a non-exempt, Contractual part time position (19hrs/week). Starting hourly rate is $17.94.
