HVAC Technician Maintenance Division
The Town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of HVAC TECHNICIAN for the Department of Public Works, Maintenance Division.
Highly technical, skilled and hands-on work in the Facilities Maintenance Division, in the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in Town buildings and facilities; all other duties as assigned. Supervises and works with contractors in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on Town buildings and a variety of equipment. Routinely inspects Town HVAC equipment for continuous operation, repairs, routine and preventative maintenance needs; assists with coordinating work projects and schedules with HVAC contractors. Inspects heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration contract work in progress and upon completion for satisfactory performance and conformance with plans, specifications, building codes, fire codes, and OSHA regulations. High school diploma with supplemental courses in the HVAC trade; five years’ experience as a reliable, full time HVAC mechanic/technician, of which two years have been at the journeyman level in an industrial/commercial setting, with emphasis on problem-solving and pneumatic/electronic/electric controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing/Certifications: Massachusetts Class D driver’s license. Massachusetts journeyman gasfitter license required. Massachusetts journeyman unrestricted sheet metal license desirable. Refrigeration license and recovery certification preferred. Aerial Life Safety Certification.
