Responsibilities and Duties
- Counsel, develop, secure and coordinate services related to meeting the housing needs of program participants and helping them maintain housing stability.
- Assure that program participants’ rights are protected, and develop an individualized housing and service plan, including a path to permanent housing stability.
- Inform the public of the availability of homeless programs.
- Assist individuals or families in locating, obtaining, and retaining suitable housing.
- Establish relationships with property owners and with landlords to secure affordable housing.
- Conduct tenant counseling, assisting individuals and families to understand leases; securing utilities.
- Assure services that are targeted to assist program participants with critical skills related to household budgeting
- Provide data collection and reporting for services to be conducted through the use of Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) or comparable database
Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or GED
ABILITY TO DE-ESCALATE CONFLICT; PEOPLE PERSON; PROFICIENT COMPUTER SKILLS TO INCLUDE DATABASES, EXCEL, WORD, EMAIL Able to work various hours and be flexible. HUD CERTIFICATION must be obtained in 12 months. WILL PAY FOR CERTIFICATION. WILL TRAIN
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and access to a privately-owned vehicle during scheduled work hours.
Ability to check electronic mail, enter data into program-specific software for required reports, and internet skills are required.
